A Live Performance

So all of you are very aware of my love for singing! You have been so kind in accommodating my indulgent fantasies of singing on my site for you! Well, recently, I had the opportunity to sing with a friend of mine in Vancouver. Oh my god! It was so much fun! And oh my god, I was so stinking nervous I thought I was going to crawl out of my skin!

If you watch the video below you can see me playing with my clothes and trying to pull my lips off of my gums. When I get nervous all the saliva disappears from my mouth and I go all shaky and shit. But wow! Was it ever fun! I can’t wait to do it again!

    Aww very beautiful song and very beautifully sung:) Isn’t singing live so much fun!There’s just something about live music that is so great and intimate it can’t even be described in words. I remember the first time I sang and played in public at my very first open mic, my friend literally had to drag me through the door. I was so nervous that I didn’t think I was going to be able to stand up straight, let alone play guitar and sing. As I walked up onto that stage with my hands shaking so badly I could barely hold my guitar, I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and opened my mouth to sing, hoping that I would actually be able to produce words, despite the lack of saliva in my mouth. I think I can honestly say, that was one of the greatest moments of my life so far. Actually proving to myself that I CAN do it, what an amazing feeling.

    and im scared out of my mind
    well not exactly nervous
    but every line is a tongue twister for juliet :-/
    im afraid ill totally blow the structure of the lines

    hes in a band called ((sounder))
    they are different, but that doesn’t mean that they
    don’t sound amazing

    I just got online just check a few things out at the end of a nice birthday before I hit the sack and getting to see you sing was a very nice ending. I wish I could sing just a little but it’s good to see you singing very well. I enjoy finding good music and I like when I find it where I least expect it. Very well done both of you.     I continue to maintain that you will never cease to amaze me Allison – I knew you could sing, but that was absolutely beautiful. I can understand the whole being nervous thing – I took singing lessons a few years back and never had the courage to perform solo, but singing in front of my teacher, trying to nail a song was nerve-racking enough, so you deserve full congratulations for being able to get up there and sing as well as you did.
