…..and i’m back….

Hey team! I am back!

So sorry for the hiatus, but I kind of felt as though I should take a bit of time to sit and look at all I was doing as well as all I would want to do. I was starting so many different projects all at once that I forgot to look at where I was going and why. This is how I seem to do it.

-I pick the direction I want to go and get so excited about what I see that I begin to run.

-I forget to look 3 feet ahead, forget to see what path I’m on. My eyes are so focused on the horizon or my own feet that I can’t see any of the ditches or sticks in my path.

-I fall into a hole or run into a river and have no idea how, what, or why I have ended up where I did.

-Then, I spend the next two weeks crawling out of the space I fell into, just in time to see the horizon and start all over again.

And so I am crawling out of the hole.

Only this time, attempting some semblance of re-evaluation before I begin running, so that this time, maybe I can avoid the hole.

I am beginning my daily journal again, I want to reconnect and share me. This community was so stunning. It was honestly a place I came to that felt warm and exciting. I looked forward to my daily time I would spend sitting and thinking.

I am so thrilled to recreate this again. I’m excited to get back to the community, “the dead poet’s society.”

Welcome to Act II!

Much love and appreciation.

Great! You can take it from here. Now I am free to fall into the hole that is in my path. It looks like the grand canyon.

I’m glad to see that you’re back, Allison. You poor thing. I figured you got swamped with work, which, you know… is logical and understandable. But yay! You’re back! :D

You’re not the only one who has lofty dreams in mind with some potholes along the way. Life is pretty bumpy. Thank God there are tire stores. hehe. I’m glad you’re back! I enjoy reading your observations about life and career.

  • Aysha

Oh Allison, so thrilled that you are back and ready to step back and look at things with a more global perspective. Sometimes we see in narrow tunnel vision, so you’re definitely not the only one who feels baffled when an unforeseen hurdle comes along the way to snap us back into reality.

I know I have fallen victim to that phenomena more times than I can keep track.

I think the important part is that we resurface, so kudos for doing just that!

Hope to get a near future dose of your beautiful musings and insights. I am sure I speak on behalf of the people who frequent this site when I say that we cherish your thoughts.

    Take Care,
    Aysha

Just thought i’d let you know and you can still contact me at myspace.com.

Yey! You are back! And don’t let the hold tumbling bug you too much. So many people never run, as they are so afraid of the holes. Where is the fun in that? And I bet holes build character, and give us interesting stories to tell when we are old on the porch, and help us have more empathy for others.

  • Allie

    Yay! Welcome back! :D

  • Hardish

Good to see you back Allison! Must say I’ve missed your blogs.

One of my favourite lyrics from a song is “We are the ones, we get knocked down, we get back up and stand above the crowd we are one” :)

    Take care x

  • Stephanie

So glad your back, we missed you!

  • Lydia

It’s great to have you back Allison.
I’m looking forward to reading again about your life and work experiences, travels, your thoughts,…

You’ve been pretty busy. Smallville, short films and theatre. I’m happy for you and I can’t wait to learn more about your projects and see your work.

It’s good to take time to reflect.

I wish you well on your journey and don’t forget to kick back and relax too.:-)

    “Allison Got Back”

I like big blogs and I can not lie.
    You other bloggers can’t deny
That when a girl types in an itty bitty post
It’s not the kind of entry we desire most.
To get inspired, to get your mind set on fire,
We need some blogs like the ones that we had prior.

    [Best I stop here ....]

  • Robin

    Welcome back Allison,

I’m looking forward to all the challanging subjects and interesting topics this community can discuss.

The “Crossed Wire” project looks fantastic and a really original and inventive idea, the positive use of technology, the collaboration of the various forms of arts and unique perspectives of each artist must be so incredible and challanging…and FUN!

As fellow posters above have mentioned..good luck with all the current and future creative projects…

  • Jo

So glad to have you back! Your daily “Journals” were one of my main reasons for visiting your site so I’ve really missed them. I completely understand your reasons as I tend to do the same thing. It’s as if you get so excited about something you develop tunnel vision. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us!

  • Cindy

    Hey, she’s back!!

You are so right! Darn those sneaky bastard sticks and those pesky so-and-so holes that sneaks up on a gal all unexpected like!! And, those tippy-toed rivers! The emotional tormentors that make us toil our valuable time away. Pity those spiffy scientists cannot come up with an equivalent of ‘Bugs Away’ for the emotional critters in our lives!

Anyway, we are just glad to have you back at last! You sound fighting fit and bushy tailed (and all that jazz). Welcome back Miss Mack!

As with everyone else, I say “welcome back, you’ve been missed”.

There’s a balance to be struck between gunning for the horizon and staring at your feet. Yes, if you don’t look down you don’t know where you are and you can’t know where you’re going. On the other hand, if you don’t look up you can find yourself travelling without direction, or at a dead end – I’m not sure which is worse.

You say you’re finding yourself to be too focused on the horizon and are meeting pitfalls along the way. I’m the other way round, muddling through life focused on where I am now, not giving enough thought to the destination. There has to be a happy middle-ground where focusing on the journey itself can let us live in both worlds.

  • Shane

I’m so glad that your back i love your influences and you as a person your amazing and glad to feel like i can coexist on your world again

  • Jade Ruby

    Hi Allison,

It’s great to see you posting once again. As for your projects, week by week, month by month, and day, by day, I’m sure that you will show the world the energy, fun, and excitement you can generate and share for years to come.

Would that there could be more like you.
    Good to see ya again!

    Yayy your backkkkk!!!!

I’ve seriously missed your blog entries, I think everything you write about inspires me to think about everything that’s going on in my own life :D
Looking forward to much more of your thoughts!

  • Anya

    Hey,Allison!)
Welcome back! Without you was very empty!((

  • Aziza

Hey Allison, welcome back. We were practically starving! Allison’s thoughts- food for the mind.

We know you’re so busy and stuff and that’s one of the things that we like about you- that you’re so active and out there and ready to jump into what you’re passionate about with both feet.

And if you fall into a hole again there can be two options-
    1. One of us will bring a ladder for you
    2. We’ll just bring snacks and drinks and have an Allison Mack Underground Party (and yes, the ladder will be provided too)

Don’t lose sight of the horizon but always enjoy the journey that you’re on.

    Take care.

  • Brittany

Hey David! I like the song! And Aziza, count me in on this underground party! :P
    Brittany

  • Alyssa

Yay!!! I’ve missed reading your blogs.

    Hi Allison.
I’m glad to see that you’re back,
You have really great talent for telling stories. Your story about holes is an incredible example.
To move forward, we must learn from ours mistakes.
I can not wait for you tell us about the films “You” and “Frog” and as the theatre in Prague.
    Take care of you
    Bye
    Claude.

  • http://www.daybow.com David Hayes

Will this blog be available in braille soon?

  • arash

I would like it in braille, I read everything wrong,
I just read; we will bring ‘snakes’ and ladder and drinks for underground party.
I am thinking, when was ‘snakes and ladders’ a drinking game!!

  • MarilyneL

Hey hey there you were! I can see that your mind was far from hibernating! :P

    Thanks Tabby hehe!

and thank you Allison, can’t wait to read some more! :D

    xoxo

  • arash

Today I realized how many people check the blog on daily basis without posting, I gotta watch what I write!

And by the way Hi allison.

  • arash

    Allison and David gave me a blog idea, so it is going to be like this;
Allison will post a deep insightful blog in form of a poem (No cheating she has to write it entirely by herself) then everybody responds with a peom. Non-poetic responses will be moderated. We will see if Allison can pull an Ethan Hawke out of us.

  • arash

    “poem”

  • Aziza

    sure, Brittany! you’re already in!
    Arash- it’s snacks! lol
(my goodness I have never laughed so much in my life- post 39 must be a good thing, huh?)

    eagerly awaiting Allison’s next blog.

  • ZainR

it’s been so long since you’ve posted a blog. I’m glad you’re back and how was your Easter weekend?

  • http://www.daybow.com David Hayes

Allison’s return will be a good test. I had 114 views in 4 days on a new fiction I posted on her forum … and I attribute that success … to boredom of people looking for any word from Allison. I’ll bet the fan fiction viewing drops now.

I am pleasantly surprised how many people check here often enough to know right away when Allison shows up. I was lucky. Tabby mentioned it on Twitter or I might not have noticed for a while.

And Allison, if you are down in that pit and it looks like Arash is throwing you a rope, make sure it isn’t a snake before you grab hold.

    ====

I’m up for suggestions. I get thrown a party on April 30th by the people that voted to NOT hire me where I work. After that … nothing.

So, should I try to write my movie.

Or should I finish the 14 Smallville AU novels?

Or should I Abandon Smallville AU and re-write it into my KT Allen series?

Or should I launch my video series “Simian Bandstand” — all the best music that apes like to dance to?

Or … the Walmart greeter job?

Or … look for the competitors of my current employers and offer them my series?

OOPS! I thought I was on Soda Head for a minute.

    Never mind.

  • Maria

    She’s baaaaack!!

YAY! Welcome back, you have been missed!!

  • Veronica
