Your turn!

So some clever man named Steven Kirk wrote this wonderful response to my last blog and I thought I would highlight this as my daily blog and encourage you to make a list of how you differ from your pets! Whether goldfish or gerbil, dust bunny or ant! Use it as a way to know you better.

Whoa! Not so fast, little lady! I think you’re not giving Bosley all the credit he deserves! :)

* While Bosley “depends” on you to feed him and clean his box, it’s because he a so-called “domesticated” cat…and that’s only as long as he’s inside. Once he’s out, he’s back to “Nature Kitty” mode and would certainly fend for himself better that any of us dropped into the wild (except maybe for that Bear Grylls dude…)

* I’m sure Bosley “imagines” that piece of string is a mouse.

* Cats cry…and purr..and “vocalize” all kinds of emotions.

* Exploring? Second only to sleep on the list of “What Cats Do Best”.

* Do I even need to mention romance when it comes to cats? ;)

* Okay, you got me on the whole “reading” thing, but my cats know the sound of a can opener, and has been watching me operate it..,I suspect to learn how to do it herself in case of an emergency.

* Cat’s fail in the most spectacular ways, and it’s even okay to laugh when they skid right off the table or misjudge the distance from the couch to the back of the chair, because they never seem to get hurt when they do fail!

* You will rarely find a more content creature than the well-loved cat.

Both our cats are very lucky to have humans who think about them and care so much.

    Hi Allison
    The differences between my frog and me.
    She eats alive grasshoppers .
    She eats her food only when it moves.
    She spends all her time in an aquarium which has a small beach.
    It may look all day in the mirror in the bathroom.
    She is very quiet.
    Similarities.
    She likes swiming.
    She loves running around in the water.

    I also have grasshoppers that I fed with carrots. My relationship with grasshoppers is not as good as for the frog. It was shorter.
    I feel a little guilty when I put a grasshopper alive in the aquarium. It’s like offering a human to Doomsday. The result is inevitable.

    I’ll tell you what…my cat is very much like me in the fact that she wants what she wants when she wants it! She’s very needy. But she’s cute, so that’s ok. :)

    Well, I guess I can jump right on in.

    My beloved Cat, who has gone on to the other side, complimented my personalities. She also clashed personalities with my child (I won’t get into that.)

    Of my thoughts, these stood out the most to me:
    -She found herself fascinated by a simple string or thread out of place or in place, that compliments me in way because I pay attention to small details, that some wouldn’t normally notice.

    Another similarity we had… we both liked attention, but too much and we both would kinda go… slap happy. LOL

    She meowed when she’s hungry, she goes to the door that the food is behind and scratches at it. I seriously think if she could she would open it and get her own food out of the bag!

    And the best thing about her, she always talked to me when i entered the room. (meows of course)… But yeah I’d talk back in her language and we’d have our own conversation going all in good fun.

    Of course we had our differences, but in a way the differences are also similarities, it just depends on how you look at it.

    Well thanks, I wasn’t expecting introspection thinking of my beloved kitty like that. I’ve yet to find another Cat quite like her. She is definitely missed. (RIP Trixie)

    I’ve never had a pet before in my life, but my ex-room mate has a dog. She doesn’t mean to treat her dog bad, but when she has to get up early in the morning she has to be reminded that some people do report animal abuse. Thats what I had to do once…

    I don’t mean to tell on her, but I say this cause to my amazement, even after she beat him, he was very sweet to her when we went back in her apartment. He snuggled up to her and licked her when we went inside.

    I sat across from her thinking, there is no way any person is capable of such un-conditional love like that. It would have to be another species.

    Mi vida mejoró bastante desde que tengo la compañía de mi gata, por ejemplo: ahora no debo levantarme a buscar una manta u otro par de calcetines, sólo espero a que mi gata tenga sueño/frío y se suba a la cama para dormir a mis pies. Muchísimo mejor que una manta o unos calcetines. Así que disfruta de Bosley (:

    Creo que uno empieza a parecerse a sus mascotas (o estas adoptan comportamientos nuestros), mi gata duerme mucho al igual que yo. No le gusta todo tipo de comidas y es sumamente tímida y feroz. Demuestra su cariño a ratos y con pequeños gestos.

    Nuestra gran diferencias es que yo soy vegetariana mientras ella ama cazar pájaros (o cualquier cosa que se mueva… y si no se mueve, también).

    Me encanta tu trabajo, y tu blog es muy agradable de leer, perdón por el español pero no soy muy buena en inglés.
