    Uber excited about this! I was cleaning this evening and I put aside some items that I thought would be cool to make into art instead of throwing it into the trash. This gives me incentive to get going!

    My mom died when I was very young, and I don’t remember her. Fortunately, I had a lot of other “moms” through the years who always took me under their wings, i.e. teachers, other relatives and friends’ moms.

    Sorry to hear that, Kris. It’s good to know you had other people in your life who were there for you.

    I just remembered this really cool thing that mum did for me back when I was doing all my year 11 exams. I had my second last one in the afternoon on whatever day it was and I opened the fridge to eat before I left for school and she had left me lunch with a little note attatched that said ‘good luck’.

    I thought it was so cute.
    I ended up doing really well on the exam too which was good.

    Even the things she’s done for me this year alone could fill a page.

    My mother has been gone for just over 9 years. I still remember all of her wisdom. Even though it has been 9 years she still makes me a better person every day of my life. She taught me to be patient and to treat people with respect. I miss her every day of my life, and I always will.

    Hi Allison,I’m from germany and my english is not the best and I don’t know if you’ll ever read this but I wanted to ask you if you could do some audio-commentaries for the season 8 dvd of smallville for some episodes like Odyssey,Bride,Legion,Hex,Doomsday and of course your directical debut Power,we the fans miss you on the dvd’s,we haven’T had cast audio-commentaries since season 4 with you and erica and tom hasn’t done one since season 2,it would be so cool if the 3 of you and maybe the other cast(Aaron,Cassidy,Sam,Justin) would/could do audio-commentaries for the dvd,cause the fans including think that yours toms and ericas were the best and funniest,so if you have time and if it’s not too late please please please do some audio-commentaries,and I hope my english wasn’t too bad and I hope you understand everything I said,bye and greetings from germany-berlin

    I guess there is nothing more amazing than a mother especially on mother’s day. I guess one thing I learn from my mother is not to get her angry or else I wouldn’t here the end of it. I would rather her hit me and just be done, but it wouldn’t hurt so it would just defeat the purpose haaaaa. No all kidding aside mothers are great, I think she would have me lift dirt for her garden now. Stupid gardening season haaaa. Always ummmm

    I think the most striking lessons learned from my mother have come to my attention since I’ve been a mother myself. Motherhood is awesome, but sometimes it’s really tough, sometimes it’s incredibly painful. I think a mother who can live without regrets is a rare creature…and a beautiful one…a woman who has truly learned to be compassionate with herself can offer such depth of compassion to her children and others around her. I hope I can be that type of mother, for me and my kids.

    I’ve also gained so much from other women in my life who have been a mothering presence to me. Here’s a super quote from Momfulness by Denise Roy:

    Well I don’t think I’ll be able to send anything but I can do a list now.

    1. She’s taught me to love unconditionally
    2. Taught me to be strong
    3. taught me to stand up for myself
    4. Taught me to never let anyone make me regret who I am
    5.Taught me to keep going even when I think I can’t
    6. Taught me that some things won’t happen like I want them to but to keep trying cause I’ll be able to achieve it. Not how I wanted but I will.
    7. She has shown me and taught me to trust God and let him lead me and everything will turn out well.

    10. Taught me to never lat anything or anyone ( not even her) hold me back.

    This is so cool I just knew you would do something special for Mother’s day.I am going to give this one a try.I know I will probably submit in a photo if anything,I love taking pics of all sorts of things.I think a poem or short story would work for the written list.We can submit two things right?This is a really sweet Mack event Allison.I can’t wait to get started.And also see what everyone else and yourself has done in honor of Mothers day.

    I called my friend yesterday to tell him about this Mack Event. His mother recently passed and I thought that this would be a very theraputic way for him to get through this Mother’s Day. I can’t imagine how hard it is going to be for him.But, we will be together creating and basking in the love of our mothers.

    - She taught me fight for i want;
    - Taught me make truly friends;
    - Taught me to respect old people;
    - Taught me never talk with stranger;
    - She taught me be myself in all moments of my life;
    - Taught me to say ¨ thank you¨ to God, for my family, my friends, my life….

    Arash, my mother also taught me to worry about what I do, and what I say….not what others do and say….so the unnecessarily harsh tone that you have taken really could have stayed inside your own head, we don’t need to hear that negativity…thats not what Allison’s blogs are about…and weather or not you feel people are being fake or not, it is not for you to say….the beauty of the little community that Allison has created here is that we can come and express ourselves in a way that we cannot in our day to day lives….do not ruin that with insults to those that come here for expression!
