Early Morning Rise

I beat the sun to rise this morning. I filled my room with lit candles, Sarah McLachlan & Cyndi Lauper float in and out of my attention and Mother Mary holds a peace lily on her back.
So peaceful, this morning. The best way to set the tone for the day.
I remember someone telling me that the way you wake up is the way you spend your day. I thought about that. Usually I push my alarm to the last minute, just trying to squeeze every last second of shut-eye possible before getting out of my cozy bed and into the day.
What tone does this set? Avoiding everything uncomfortable and pushing beginnings to the last second. I don’t think I want to have my days filled with the phrase “five more minutes”. No thank you. More like “right now”. I know they say patience is a virtue. But we don’t have many hours in our life. I would rather be awake then asleep.
But sometimes. . . sometimes that pillow is so soft and the bed is so warm. And then add a warm body behind you?
Oof. Those are the days when the tone is set to Dusty Springfield and already established lights on your face.
I like those days the best.

    The discovery of a brand new day is the finest first experience ever! Altough I often use the “five more minutes” option, I am able to wake up immediately. And fresh start? My favourite tee, ah, I love that!

    Not so much a morning person. I am the individual who will reset the alarm after snoozing it so that I can sleep another 10 minutes, or God forbid, another half hour or even an hour. My sleep self is a rather stubborn-hearted child who will only do what she wills to do, no compromises.

    When I am fully awake, I laugh at my sleepy antics and the ways in which I make deals with my awake self in order to catch a few z’s.

    I don’t personally think how one wakes up completely sets the tone for the rest of the day. It can, if you let it. But, I have read that there have been ways one can condition oneself to wake up right away after the alarm buzzes. I may benefit from that! lol

    I’m more of a night owl so the morning is a dreaded necessary evil. But, once the late morning kicks in, it is smooth sailing for me.

    The warm bed is hard to resist, I agree.

    I find, sleep eludes me a lot of the time. If i go to bed at 10:30 or 11′o’clock, i’m awake by 03:30am, this is how i manage to be on twitter when all of you across the pond are on. So, i’m very pleased for you, that you can sleep soundly and have to work at attending to the alarm. I wish you lots of comfort, whether you’re awake or asleep.

    this is so true…. the amount if times I have felt like
    this

    when I go to bed at 10 or 11 I usually wake up around 3am, it feels
    amazing like I’m the only persons awake for miles. I feel so much happier
    because in a sense everything is on my terms. I find that when I live like this I am so much
    more motivated to do everything and much, much happier. Rather than living in a
    procrastination mode of putting everything off.

    What became of the Marilyn movie? The trailer looked so good. If you have any say in it, how about a new title? One that says something, Marilyn gives an impression of MMonroe, even if that’s in the movie, not a good sell. Love your acting, and you’re hot…. Not in a creepy way, okay sort of creepy, but not stalky way. :)

    My story isn’t about this post but the only way I can write to you is by commenting on a post. I don’t know what your beliefs are and when I tell you I hope I don’t sound a little wack-a-doodle but I’d like to share it with you anyway.
    When I was 4 years old I used live with my mum in a small unit. I used to see a little girl crying by mum’s bedroom window but when I told mum where she was, she’d dissapear. She never frightened me and she never spoke to me until now. I’ve been having dreams about her and because I don’t remember her I never see her face. I had the same dream two nights in a row. On the third night I dreamt of her crying by my bedroom window in the house I am in now. When I try to forget about it I have the dream again. I’m telling you this story because you seem to have a very open mind. What do you think this means?

    I am always caught between two totally different worlds when it comes to sleeping, and being awake. Not to mention that my schedule has me up all morning, and sleeping all day. (graveyard shift). The interesting part is that when i dream i not only remember them, but they are so vivid as though i am living another life within them.
