    Hey again(x3) Allison,

I listened to the first two segments involving the woman with cancer and the girl that got bit by a shark. Throughout both segments I fought back tears and the dam finally broke during the girl from New Zealand’s story of what happened after the shark bite. Mentioning the ICU was the tipping point since my Mom works in the ICU. It felt personal. Her family seemed so insensitive and oblivious to what happened to her. I feel bad that she had to move to another continent to try to put what happened behind her:(. God, what a traumatic experience. I hope her life is full of love and warm people that are in tune with her.

I gotta’ admit some of the comedian’s jokes were funny. I pictured myself sitting in that crowd listening to her jokes/story. Some of the things she said that people were laughing at made my eyes fill with tears and I thought ” Man! How can you people laugh at this?!” I understand that everyone has different perspectives and life experiences. Maybe I’m just too sensitive?

I will listen to the other segments at another time.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Allison,
I have been trying to buy one of Adam kurtzman’s pendant lamps everywhere! I have tried specialty stores, online…everything. Is there anyway way you could let me know how to get one?

    Thanks,

I just found the post about american life, with the radio cast. It is so incredible that even from the lowest points people can get back on their feet. I instantly thought ‘ocd’ with the first description, having heard and experienced a lot of this condition. Anyway, it was great and interesting also, so thanks from Britain :)
