“I wish my body was a mason jar you could see right through. ” I love this.

This whole poem is stunning. From the moment she talks about a marble spine, to wishing she had a heart inside her jellyfish body. I love this.

Walking through my life I long for that marble spine. Bending and twisting my own play-dough character, thinking if I could only find the right mold, then the steel rod of purpose and meaning would have a chance to harden, dry straight through my core. A lightning rod attracting no less than pure electricity to connect me to the earth. Maybe that’s all I need. A good strong dose of electricity.

Nothing like a good poet to inspire some poetry. Thanks, Andrea Gibson.

Wow. Often I don’t really ‘get’ poetry, but that one really hit me just now.
    Powerful.
