I love this! I recently made the solitary move from Maine to Texas. I didn’t know a soul here. I found a random room to rent via Craigslist and lined up a job interview that I discovered on CL as well. It was thrilling, but very scary as well! There are so many things that back home I would avoid because I had that option. Examples being DRIVING.. particularly long distances or on the highway. And also just doing things alone! Being here in a strange place I don’t have the option of having someone else do those things for me or waiting for my buddies to be free to join me on an adventure. I HAVE to do them on my own. The driving was the worst! I moved from a tiny town to the city of Austin where the traffic and roads are so different and even scarier! Now I feel so proud of myself for accomplishing all of these things. I am a strong, capable, independent woman! I am so thankful for these tough times because I really have grown from them!
