I recently auditioned for a new television show for HBO. The script was awesome and so I did some research on the writer to find out where it came from… and that was when I was blown away by Miss Lena Dunham. Lena is a 24 year old chick who is doing all the stuff I talk about doing. She is awesome. I knew I would be reading for her, so I assumed she would be way too cool for me and I would never make a good impression and obviously, never get the job. Women that are accomplished, artistic and creative could never be cool and fun and goofy like me. It would be impossible.

Boy, was I wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Not only was she incredibly intelligent, but she was kind and humble. She was warm and open and enthusiastic and not at all “cool”. I was so excited that I told my manager I wanted to be friends with her. I asked if I could get her email.

My manager, always doing her job well, helped me rationalize my enthusiasm and pulled in the “stalker” reins by suggesting she give my email to Lena and let her decide to make the first move.

Lo! And behold! She did! And now we are friends. How cool is that?

I am so inspired by people who follow their dreams. People who say they want to do something and actually do it. What an amazing thing that is–so simple and yet so rare. Check her out. http://lenadunham.com

It’s funny but that is exactly how I view you. Not to sound like a suck up or anything but I’ve always thought of you as this very accomplished and creative person that knows how to be smart, fun and goofy all at the same time! It’s definitely possible to be that person!

Good luck by the way on getting the part you auditioned for!

    Hi Allison.
Thanks for the information about a new television show for HBO.
Thanks Allison for your commitment to the role, for your obvious love and respect of Chloe, for being so talented in bringing her to life, and for being so good to us fans over the years .

I saw the preview of her movie Tiny Furniture last year, it was only in select theatres so I haven’t had the chance to see it yet. But it looks amazing! If she’s anything like the character she plays in the movie I can see why you would like her so much!
