“If you want to take your mission in life to the next level, if you’re stuck and you don’t know how to rise, don’t look outside yourself. Look inside. Don’t let your fears keep you mired in the crowd. Abolish your fears and raise your commitment level to the point of no return, and I guarantee you that the Champion Within will burst forth to propel you toward victory.”

by Bruce Jenner

I find this quote so incredibly inspiring! I realized that I have only ever really done what feels comfortable in my life. I have never put myself in a position where I’m doing something that I have never done before. I have done this knowingly because the idea of looking like I don’t know what I am doing scares the heck out of me. After realizing this, I feel that limiting myself is ridiculous!

I am just shooting myself in the foot because… how can I ever grow if I never challenge myself. How can I ever know the depths of me if I spend my whole life skimming the surface and doing what is comfortable. So, I have decided to branch out. I will be directing episode 20 of Smallville this year, and I am so intimidated! It’s silly. I know that I have eight months to prep and that I have the most amazing crew of people around me that will do everything in their power to help me make something awesome, but getting past that ego that drives me has been a huge challenge. Ignoring the voice inside my head that is screaming “You have no clue how to do this!” has definitely been a challenge.

As I start to do more and more work on building this skill in myself, the voice is starting to soften and I am actually really enjoying the process. I liked this quote so much because it talks about “abolishing you fears” and “raising your commitment to the point of no return!” There is something so empowering about that phrase! So I am raising my “commitment level to the point of no return”!

I have now announced it to all you lovelies and I can’t go back on my word. It’s that silly pride thing that is actually helpful in this situation ūüėČ I am taking on something so foreign but I have made a strong decision to enjoy the learning process! Who knows, maybe I will become a fabulous director and just have two careers! Woah… let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Thanks for all the support you provide! I love hearing from you every week. You have no idea how much joy I get out of reading your thoughts on this website!

Ciao to all

ps… Oh yeah! And check out Miss Tabby’s site, allisonmackonline.com. She is doing some really awesome stuff for my birthday! I am collecting funds for a foundation that I am starting and any support is so so so appreciated!

I always love your blogs. You are so fully connected with every experience that you seem to go through. There’s an excitability interlaced in whatever your thought for that moment seems to be, and it’s really awesome that you share that with others. I can’t wait to see your directorial chops. I’m sure it will be lovely and amazing!

the term: “if you do not face its demons in the certain time, them consume you completely” it never meant in such a way for me… “Branching Out” it is the hour to reevaluate its more important thoughts and actions…and all pass, or would have to pass, therefore a time in the life.
congratulations for the Blog and the work, Alisson

Wow… I just was looking for information about the next season, because I decided not to follow Smallville if Chloe Sullivan is not there!!! Sorry if I sound like having old news, but I really have’t been able to catch up. I loved your writing style, maybe mine is not great, but, if you can find this as an excuse, I’M MEXICAN… so, I’m doing my best. Your character is my favourite, is my reason to keep watching Smallville, I LOVE IT… Chloe Sullivan must be CK’s girl!!! JAJAJA, I’m serious!!!… Even though I laughted.
For what I red from you, you are a great person, and don’t worry, you’ll be great with that Episode at your command, your such a talented girl, I really got surprised when I red all the things you have done. Keep shining Allison… I really hope to keep watching you in the show.

    Love and Kisses from MEXICO!!!

Hi Ms. Mack, to see such conviction is a nice thing…. This is a brave first step you are making, knowing you, it will be allright cause it is a win win situation.

I remember how it was when we had to go to holland to study…saying goodbye to your friends and family, it was no happy moment, we had nothing but sadness at that time almost everybody were crying, it is something that we`ll keep for ever with us… Not a nice moment but still a great one courage to take real control of yourself and your life is no small thing neither is it a once in a life time thing…. you have to take the first step… take steps to take control of your life and than you have to stay in control… So it`s just a process of building you character…a thing that lots of people don`t do… because ( I said it so many times and I`m still saying it ) because you THINK about these kind of stuff…soon you`ll be posting your own quotes am I right?

Been busy directing my own show so haven’t gotten to this until now. I have to admit to feeling a little mixed about the news of you directing. One of the biggest challenges in my own career is watching actors get a directing gig because they’ve been part of the company over someone like me who has been studying the craft for years but never had the acting gift. But that’s my issue.

My advice, as one director to another, is to keep in mind the arc of the story. It’s easy to look at moments and think “wow”, but if they don’t mesh with what’s come before and what is coming afterwards, they don’t fit no matter how well acted they are. The other trap is getting so caught up in camera angles and lighting to tell your story that the acting becomes an afterthought. However, that hasn’t been the case when Tom and Michael directed so I’m sure you won’t fall into that trap. Stay true to the characters and the story and we the audience will follow you no matter how you frame the shot.

Best of luck. Directing takes over your life so you really have to love it. Luckily there are moments of complete transcendence that makes it all worthwhile. May you have many of those.

Imagination will take you everywhere.” So dive right in, relax and enjoy the the ride. Thanks for helping to keep my imagination alive and well. I look forward to watching your directing debut.

    m√°s no te escondas detr√°s
    de esa sonrisa…

Muestra aquello que eres, sin miedo.
    Existen personas que sue√Īan
con tu sonrisa, así como yo.
    ¬°Vive! ¬°Intenta!

La vida no pasa de una tentativa.

    Ama por encima de todo,
    ama a todo y a todos.
No cierres los ojos a la suciedad del mundo,
    no ignores el hambre!

    Olvida la bomba,
pero antes haz algo para combatirla,
    aunque no te sientas capaz.

    ¬°Eh! Mira…
Mira a tu espalda, cuantos amigos…
¬ŅYa hiciste a alguien feliz hoy?
¬ŅO hiciste sufrir a alguien con tu ego√≠smo?

    ¬°Eh! No corras…
    ¬ŅPara que tanta prisa?
    Corre apenas dentro tuyo.

Pero no perjudiques a nadie y
no transformes tu sue√Īo en fuga.

    ¬°Cree! ¬°Espera!
    Siempre habr√° una salida,
    siempre brillar√° una estrella.

    ¬°Llora! ¬°Lucha!
    Haz aquello que te gusta,
siente lo que hay dentro de ti.

Escucha lo que las otras personas
    tienen que decir,
    es importante.

    Haz de los obst√°culos escalones
    para aquello que quieres alcanzar.
Mas no te olvides de aquellos
    que no consiguieron subir
en la escalera de la vida.

Descubre aquello que es bueno dentro tuyo.
Procura por encima de todo ser gente,
    yo también voy a intentar.

    ¬°Hey! T√ļ…
    ahora ve en paz.
Yo preciso decirte que… TE ADORO,
    simplemente porque existes.

    Fear is overcome with Action!

One of the greatest surprises you’ll experience, is when you discover that you can do what you were afraid you couldn’t do….

Your obstacles will melt away, if instead of cowering before them, you make up your mind to walk boldly through them..

Do the thing you fear and fear disappears. Confront your fears. List them, get to know them and only then will you be able to put them aside and move ahead…..

The only thing you need to fear is fear it’s self. When you face the things that scare you, you open the door to freedom…

    Just remember that

    Lots of love!
