You like??!

That’s right, someone was feeling crafty with collage and Photoshop! Thanks to my ridiculously large collection of magazines and Chad’s brilliant skills with a scanner and the computer genius of photoshop, I was able to create something that really feels like an expression of me and how I feel about my life right now!

And while I am on the topic of redecorating my site… I would love to hear some feedback from you all! What do you like? Not like? Is there something you want to see more of? Do you have any cool ideas for sub-sections or projects or shows or anything? If so throw em out there!

I am totally open to any and all cool ideas and if you have an article you wanna write or a podcast you wanna host and you think it would live happily in the home of, please pitch to me!

I want the site to begin to feel more like a community then an “Official Allison Mack Site.” So please! Jump in the water of making this cool!

    Dear Allison,
I absolutely love how you have re-created your website! It is very inspiring and unique. I am so excited for the Girls By Design section! Anyway, just thought I’d pass some encouragement along to you today; I love visiting your website everyday and seeing what new things that you have to make people think about the world around them as well as inside themselves. I think that we all have dreamt of making a difference in the world, but here you are actually doing it. We can’t know where we’re going unless we know where we’ve been. Have a blessed day!

Hey, I just noticed something else about the new site. There’s a broken link: Links! It goes to “” and it should go to “” instead. It’s right on the main page, just not here from the blog. 🙂

    Sweet New Digs Allison!!

I was trying to visit yesterday and saw it was under construction, I gotta say your BRB was also VERY creative. It got me smiling. I LOVE what you’ve done! It’s so creative. I’m a HUGE fan of black and white pics as well as pics with LOTSA color. It trips me out. But WOW. I’m amazed at what you’ve done!
I love all the nifty different fonts you’ve used to label all the different themes you can click at the home page (Blog, Alice &Huck, Thoughts, Create, etc…) and the pics and the colors…oh it’s just so MINDBLOWING!! I gotta admit thou, is that pic of the woman there of you? I think since her hair is sort of bronze I’m just curious on that. It may or may not be you but still…

I like the colors you’ve picked here. I’m actually a huge fan of black and I like that you’ve complimented it with yellow. Oh man now I can’t even stop talking. I’m gonna stop now haha, but I’m telling you your redecoration-MINDBLOWING!

Hey Allison, it’s been a little while since I’ve been on here and boy I had no idea the amount of stuff I’ve been missing out on! The new sight looks great, I for one like the contrast of the vibrant colors against a black background. In my mind, it reflects that you are a bright shining light in the world, yet still full of mystery. Cheesey, yeah, probably! But one thing I think might be cool is if you had a place for unknown music artists to perform original pieces. In order to be considered, they would have to send you a track for your approval. As a musician, that is something I’d be all over! Keep up the good work and I can’t wait for the new Smallville season : )

    Hi Allison,

Wow, you and Chad have done agreat job of creating a very bold, interesting and thought provoking title page.

The collage sets the tone for the whole site, much less clinical than previous, it just feels like more personal, and from your blogs just seems to capture the spirit of you.

As for suggestions, how about music on the main page?
How about a short paragraph on artists from all fields from past and present that have and continue to inspire you and why?

All in all, just try to keep it FUN, interesting, imaginitive and HONEST (not easy i’m sure), we’ll try to rise to the challange and give almost intelligent replys..i’ll try harder with gramma and spelling!

This site just seems to keep growing up and reaching out in all areas just like yourself.
    Well done!

Hmmm..totaly different! WD Allison and Chad! 🙂 Mixed thoughts…

Kei, this is my opinion. Pls don’t curse me 🙁
First, Homepage – Loving the fonts and colours used, but I have to say that it looks (to me) a bit creepy. Reminds me of the tv prog “Ghost whisperer” for some reason. It didn’t bring out or show the funny, young, free spirit side of YOU. Thought it would be nice to put different head shots of you having different expressions or something.
Also, may I suggest that you put “official website” at the bottom. There are quite a number of Allison mack’s web sites out there.

Oh also, I find the topic’s separation (dunno exactly what you call ’em. Home page .right hand corner) confusing. & I think you can minimise the space. Example: The “Musings, Create, and thoughts are all leading to one link. Why not just merge the topic into one? (same as when you click Mack events joy, create, projects -leads to you reg blog)
I suggest : 1.Thoughts, 2.Mack events blogs & videos (pls do include the videos so i dont have to visit youtube to see them),3. Create/Challenge 4. Photography 5. Forum 6. Biography 7.Juicy Peach 8.Latest Projects (contains your latest tv appearances, movies, interviews etc.,)9.Fave Links

I personaly think that Girls by design should be in your fave links. (no offense to Kristin K) Simply bec this is not a project that you are actualy involved in.unlike Juicy Peach)

lastly, just want to say Thank you, Allison. For giving and sharing your inspiration to us!

    Tah for now.

okay now i can give my opinion 🙂
    the home page is awesome
    fonts are ‘cute’
    and the colors are amazing
the picture is too damn cute
    but besides that…
    when entering the blogs etc..
the colors work for me, but i understand some of the concerns and opinions that others have 🙂
not like my opinion was needed
    but ohh well
but when entering your email adress… I really really don’t like the peachy color with the white font…
i have to strain my eyes to see it.

    ahh and mentioning podcasts…
i wouldnt be to shy to do one 🙂
    or a few…
    or a chain of them
i love to help out and entertain
    maybe podcasts…
    people could throw out ideas…
    there could be debates opinons
or challenges… weird and fun challenges
not sure… kinda like your events
but not exactly the same in my mind…
but who the hell knows whats goin on up there anyways 😛
    just throwing stuff out there

    hmmm pictures of the week?
    posters send in…
    their photography
things they find along the way
    in everyday life
they they find facinating or amazing
    and they are mentioned?

i hope everyone knows whenever i think of little things i just come on here… how sad…

you could make some kinda of tab or regognition towards articles that people find that they want to share with the community….
    things they find interesting

hmm im not sure… i don’t really feel like being a critic towards the site at the moment
i feel like being creative 🙂

I’m also going off of what you put out there (ideas), but veering in different directions with them…

    this should be fun….

I really like it. It kind of says “hey i’m me and i don’t care to put myself out there!”

I think it would be interesting to put out a blog on the topic of God and the bible. I’m a believer & i would like to see what everyone else thinks! Do some compare/contrasting? Heck, I’m open to listen to all kinds of views!

The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

It’s one of my favorite quotes.

Please continue to post quotes, your favorite music, movies and books. Madeleine Peyroux has become one of my favorite artists.

You’ve made something really unique and beautiful of your website. It’s a real treat. Thank you.

Is it really you? It’s all chaotic and jumbled. And, the pinks on slate? 😉 J/K, if it’s you, then that’s what counts. The idea of community (as opposed to your official web-site) is great.

I see folks dropping ideas for blog topics. How about one on music? What it means to you? What sort of music you like? Why? I’ve played music all my life and I cannot imagine my life without it. My relationship with music is personal and solitary. But it fulfils a great part of me. Is acting the same with you?

Ok, I’d better stop rambling. Ciao!

Nice collage at the front of the site. Navigation through the site is still familiar, so kudos for that too (getting lost on a web site sucks…)

One word of warning. Doing site re-designs can be almost addicting! For some, it’s their own personal quest of “perfection”, which I know is not your style. You like to explore and create, which definitely explains the current site’s appearance.

I’m imagining in the future your site having a theme related to dark chocolate and mint, because that was your mood and it stuck around!

If you choose to explore other creative web venues, I need to recommend that you also have to look at how computer programmers think, just because it is their hard work and ingenuity that created this new world called the Internet and those traits underlie this new world’s architecture. If you manage to capture and understand their thought processes, you will make craaazy cool enhancements to this site and it will be tricked out, faster than Clark, fast!

And that’s my hopefully supportive 2 cents.

It looks good, but a little too different a little scary I’ll have to get used to it.

Wow Allison the new design of the site is brilliant. It is such an expression of who you are. I love the photoshopped stuff and the quote from Eleanor Roosevelt is brilliant. It’s so true 🙂 🙂

I would love to see you setting us more challenges- things that inspire us to be better people. I love the cookie lady challenge. Also picking some cause of something you feel really passionate about and discussing it and sharing ideas. Just a thought 🙂 🙂

I love the new site… it just screams “I am me, hear me roar”. So unique and wonderfully artistic and homey.

I think a pay-it-forward section would be awesome. Whether it’s a podcast or just a photo/comment section where you and the collective post and talk about the postive actions or words they did. Also, maybe incorporating watching other humans help others.

You’re definitely an inspiration and it’s seriously great to see your impact on the world, even if it’s a smaller portion… the ripples will eventually reach out to a place you never thought you’d touch.

Overall I like the site design a lot, but I guess since I am late to reply that I can only repeat what most said.. The dark background makes it a little hard to read and the comments page seems all one blur of stuff.

But when it comes down to it, it is YOUR site and you should do what you want with it, make it reflect who you are. This is our little peek into the mind that is Allison, show your authentic self off for us!

I totally agree with whoever said an ask Allison section would rock my socks 🙂
I love how connected we can be as fans these days it’s truley inspiring.
I had a topic that maybe you could address someday if you have the time. It might even be able to have a new mack event.
    My idea is this:
Belief in yourself. How do we as human beings learn to take control of our lives and get where we want to be.
I personally would be interested in the more philisophical aspect of that, and the professional side of it from you as an actress, me being an aspiring actress myself. How do we learn to turn off the negative voices in out head that tells us we’re not good enough or not tall enough or not pretty enough or too pretty or whatever it may be. I was thinking as a mack event maybe people could send in videos or pictures or whatever of them doing what they love to do whether it be acting or dancing or doing impressions or really hard math problems or anything 🙂
    -sincerely, V.B.
(ps I just managed to watch the episodes or opposite sex, and I thought it was awesome but it got me to thinking. is there some place we can purchase the series or hiller and diller or kate brasher or any of the other wonderful things you’ve done?)

    on August 5, 2008 at 3:05 pm

yeah, I think an Ask Allison page would be sooo cool!!!

I love the home page. its so creative and pretty!!!
I dont mind the black and white… apparently having a black page is actually saving a lot of energy than having a brighter page, but if it’s hurting people’s eyes, then maybe a brighter colour would be a good idea. as long as its not flourescent anything, 😀
maybe the writing could have different colours or something.

    good luck!
    Luv Ushani xoxo

Well if I’d have to be honest I missed the old layout. The old layout seemed to be more organized and structured. Maybe I had just gotten used to it but this new layout is definitely more creative which is different and nice. I recognize this layout from the Girls by Design website so I think I will eventually get used to it;).

i like everything in this web site
    expecially the home page.
