When a person smiles good chemicals are released in the brain that make a person happier. Also, when one person smiles another person seeing
that tends to smile as well. If you think about it Allison your smile is causing millions of other smiles and millions of happier people. We could
probably cure depression and other troubles by having your worlds best smiling face on billboards all over the world. -Lance

My god , I can’t believe you just said that; curing depression by putting Allison’s smile on a billboard!
As someone who endures depression I would just like to make it clear that putting Allison’s smile on a billboard (delightful as that may be) would not cure my illness.
I and many others like me seldom find the world a beautiful place and have few occasions to smile.
So whilst I do enjoy Alison’s blog posts and find them thought-provoking and interesting, I have to say that these type of vapid quotes are anecdotal at best and patronising at worst.

I apologize. I did not mean to minimize the pain and difficulties of depression. I understand them well.
