I have been thinking all day today about the difference between me and my cat. Yes, I got a cat since we last spoke. He is fabulous, his name is Bosley and he has no tail. Don’t worry, there will be pictures that follow!

So, back to the “cat vs. me” exploration.

  • We both love to eat, although he seems to stop when he is full while I go til there is nothing left on my plate.
  • We both love to be touched, although I won’t push my nose under someone’s hand for affection (oh wait, yes I do).
  • We both go to the bathroom, although I go in a porcelain orb while he uses a plastic box with sand.
  • We both love to lie in the sun, although he does it alone or with us and I struggle to do anything solo.
  • We both seem dependent on the families that support us, although I am not dependent. I can make choices for myself and think about things in regards to the future and the past.
  • I can take responsibility for my life choices.
  • I can imagine and create.
  • I can cry and speak.
  • I can laugh and explore.
  • I can fall in and out of love.
  • I can read.
  • I can fail.
  • I can live in way that is so rich and full.

Wow Bosley, looks like you got the fuzzy side of the lollipop. Maybe you will earn this honor in your next life. But until then, enjoy the foot of my bed.

I actually have 2 cats myself and the eldest I refer to as my pet alarm clock because around 5:30 am with out fail he miaows his head off to come in, after someone lets him in he bolts straight to my bedroom door, scratches it to be let in, then pounces straight on top of me where I just about fall out of bed. LOL

Hi Allison, Firstly I have to say love your character in Smallville, you are a great actress. I have 2 cats, 1 a manx, Huey, who has a tail. They normally dont have tails but because his mum was a moggy hence he has a the tail. The other is an Australian Bombay a cat that resembles the panter, sleek black and golden eyes. He doesn’t meow he says hello. He is the smartest little guy you’d ever meet. When he’s hungry he goes and grabs his treats and brings them to you, even if there upstairs. If you happen to be sleeping he throws them at your head repeatedly until you awake … gotta love cats, but hey I have 2 beagles and a chicken as well…. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Have an awesome day ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi Allison

Having a relationship with an animal is a great thing; animals give us a different kind of love. When I stroke or ruffle my birdโ€™s plumage he picks me softly indicating he is feeling good. Then when I try to move away he doesnโ€™t want me to stop haa. Great comparison Allison ummmm

i had a cat with no tail too allison.. he was a manx cat and his name was cheesie.. he was about 22 years old but sadly passed last jan but i actually got a new one last easter. i actually named him sullivan because hes orange and my mom said to name him an irish name and i thought thats pretty good name. also i told her it was ur charaters lastname on smallville and shes like there u go lol so it worked out great. but hes like my lil buddy and it was hard to actually get use to him cause i was missing cheesie alot. i mean i had him since i was 5 years so. but i live on a farm and im not really interested in goats or cows or farm animals like my family is so having sullivan hes like my best buddy. i think its also great having any kind of animal. u know they will be there for u and there cuddly lol. cool blog by the way. hope u do put pics up of ur cat.. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hehe..Very Funny.

But just by giving it a second thought, ain’t their life (cats) easier (not that easy if you’re a street cat 4 sure) but globally, it’s a square life (not that much complicated., straightforward, genuine..etc..)??

Concepts like: racism, segregation, being biased and so do not exist in the world of cats…

Of course you’ll tell me humans are civilised, communicate throuh more complex and sophisticated means, are conscious…etc..

Yes, cats (animals) have their particularities and we have ours…too

And don’t forget, all these concepts are..subjective..in my opinion, we’re all (living beings) entites..that live on a Planet…

Wouldn’t wanna sound like a “Sheldon” but, we’re about the same at the end…..
(Same cycle of life, same pattern..same organic materials… hehe)
except for one thing: we’re the dominating race…so far..(because of our particularities….)

I have a cat too. Her name is Princess Baby Pink Pajamas (Princess for short), and yes I am old enough to be using a computer. ๐Ÿ˜‰
I wanted to name my first cat that when I was 6, but my mom said no. I have now realized why. It is because she knew any cat with that name would be absolutely INSANE. She was right.

I think cats can cry and love too-just in different ways. Like another person said about their pet, Princess will yowl constantly if I am gone more than a day. My roommates tell me it is horrible, whoops!
I think I am the only person ever who could love this ridiculous cat. She is extremely bipolar, and will go from a two hour snuggle fest into running around the apartment at 150 miles an hour. Further proof of cat’s thoughts or emotions–she gets bored. Cute post.

In fact the human is an animal species,
therefore it shares most of its properties
    with the other animal species.

Maybe it is the language symbolic
system which makes all the difference

The man is an animal specialized in the cerebralisation , but for the cheetah makes it be specialized in speed does not distinguish it from the other animals.

Thus there are no differences between human and animal

    So I am an animal
